A Night We Won’t Forget — Sazakan Live at Urla Jazz Festival 2024

What a night!

Playing with Sazakan at the Urla Jazz Festival, in my hometown no less, was something I’ll carry with me for a long, long time. The air was warm, the sky soft, and there was this quiet magic in the atmosphere even before we touched our instruments.

Our set included pieces from our upcoming album "Earth is Alive" —music that moves like the wind, shifting from wild and powerful to still and soft. And somehow, that night, everything just clicked. The sounds, the energy, the people… it all flowed together effortlessly.

I looked into the crowd and saw people completely immersed—eyes closed, smiles, some visibly moved. It felt like we weren’t just performing music, we were sharing something ancient. Something beyond words. The way the wind carried the handpan, the sax dancing with the night air, the rhythm grounding us… it all felt alive.

It wasn’t just a concert. It was a moment of presence, of being real and raw together under the stars.

Urla, thank you for holding us. Thank you to everyone who came and listened with open hearts. That night meant the world. Truly.

Until next time,

– Omercan
